Government Connect (GCSx CoCo)
A Range of Affordable Products and Services to Meet Public Sector ComplianceGovernment Connect (CoCo) is a pan-government program providing an accredited and secure network between central government and every local authority in England and Wales. The network is known as GCSx (Government Connect Secure Extranet). GCSx is part of the wider Government Secure Intranet (GSi) and provides connectivity to nearly all-central departments.

RandomStorm addresses the key requirements of the Government Connect Code of Connection. They are The IT Health Check Requirement (2.4), The Vulnerability Scanning Requirement (2.18) and the Intrusion Detection Requirement (2.9).
IT Health Check (CoCo REQUIREMENT 2.4)
RandomStorm professional services provide IT Health Checks in accordance with GCSx guidelines. RandomStorm are a CESG CHECK Accredited provider for IT Health Checks. The IT health check is conducted by TigerScheme qualified experienced consultants and concentrates on the following network assets:
- External gateway penetration testing
- Network Analysis, exploitable switches, gateways
- Vulnerability analysis, patch levels, poor passwords, services used
- Exploitation
- Summary Report with recommendations with an annex of more comprehensive detail
Vulnerability Scanning (CoCo REQUIREMENT 2.18)

Intrusion Detection (CoCo REQUIREMENT 2.9)
RandomStorm has Intrusion Detection built in or can interface with an existing intrusion detection environment. RandomStorm IDS saves time and is effortless to operate. RandomStorm validates each Intrusion Detection alert against a hosts actual vulnerabilities. This allows RandomStorm to qualify whether the alert is genuine or not, thus reducing IDS logs down to a mere few, providing a cost effective and real world, practical solution for local authority teams.
