RandomStorm Announces Distribution Agreement With Sigma SD

RandomStorm, the Proactive Vulnerability Management software business has announced an agreement with specialist distribution company Sigma Software Distribution. Under the agreement Sigma will include RandomStorm's network vulnerability scanning tools, xStorm and iStorm in its portfolio of technical, development and business products.

The agreement is part of RandomStorm's channel development strategy which includes recruiting a range of specialist security resellers as well as managed services partners looking to access the growing market for security management and compliance technologies.

RandomStorm's vulnerability management tools provide resellers with a rapid, low cost of entry opportunity to access the lucrative security sector. With white label versions of the management interface, reports and network appliance, also an option, it is possible to have a fully branded vulnerability scanning service ready to launch within a two week time frame.

The announcement coincides with the release of the latest version of RandomStorm's Vulnerability Management Platform (VMP) which now includes plug-in capability for a range of IDS and other end-point security solutions. This event correlation feature of the system extends the functionality to provide users with a real time overview of the network security threat level; reducing the number of potential false positives and saving time associated with the remediation of low or no-risk vulnerabilities.

Vulnerability Scanning is a critical component of the PCI compliance procedure, which now impacts thousands of online retailers and other companies that process card payments. The RandomStorm VMP includes standard PCI approved report formats further extending the revenue generating options open to the channel.
