Nebulas Security Adds RandomStorm to New Technology Incubator Programme.

Nebulas Security, the leading provider of advanced IT security, data privacy and compliance solutions has added RandomStorm; the new name in on-demand vulnerability scanning technology experts, to its rapidly expanding Technology Incubator portfolio.

Through the agreement, RandomStorm will be the third company to be added to Nebulas Security's newly established Technology Incubator product environment which introduces innovative IT security and compliance technologies. The Technology Incubator provides a very low-risk yet high return entry for new companies launching into the UK market. Before entering this programme, potential partners and technologies undergo a strict feasibility and selection process to ensure that both they and Nebulas Security derive maximum benefit from their inclusion.

On-demand vulnerability scanning experts, RandomStorm launched its online vulnerability scanning service, xStorm, earlier this year. The company is rapidly developing its nationwide partner network, having secured agreements with several specialist security resellers and establishing a growing user base in just a few months. The agreement with Nebulas Security marks a major step forward for the company, which RandomStorm expects will help open business opportunities in London?s financial services sector in particular.

Vulnerability scanning is a major growth area which spans both the IT security and compliance sectors. It is a crucial requirement for any company serious about its data management security policy. The market is being driven by a wide range of government and industry regulations which companies must now adopt in order to continue in business and avoid serious financial penalties. Companies that operate in the financial services sector and handle card transactions online are particularly well regulated through the FSA and the new Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) rules.

RandomStorm's xStorm service enables any company to easily and regularly scan their systems for new vulnerabilities, helping maintain security between the formal PCI and FSA audits, from any web browser. The service will be extended later in the year with the addition of the iStorm dedicated appliance, which companies will be able to locate within their corporate networks to provide a deep scanning capability of the entire network topology.
