InTechnology partners with RandomStorm to deliver Proactive Vulnerability Management Service
InTechnology plc, the leading managed services provider at the forefront of integrated voice and data IP networking infrastructure deployments, has launched a proactive vulnerability management (PVM) service aimed at providing its customers with an enhanced security platform. The service, which utilises the RandomStorm online, on demand network vulnerability scanning and reporting engine, enables network security managers to schedule routine scans of their network perimeters and obtain detailed information and remediation advice on any new vulnerability.
The launch of the new service reflects the growing problem of maintaining the highest possible security posture in a constantly changing, complex network environment. Weaknesses in the network can appear on a daily basis through failure to update software, errors in system configurations as well as simple human mistakes, that can then be exploited by the hacker community to access confidential information and inflict corporate collateral damage on an organisation.
Organisations that fail to maintain their security posture can easily find themselves in breach of privacy and data protection regulations, resulting in punitive fines and unwelcome media attention. The InTechnology PVM service includes a range of industry standard, regulatory compliance reporting options including the latest payment card industry data security standard (PCI DSS) for which regular routine scans are a mandated requirement.
The RandomStorm powered service can be accessed via a standard Web browser and new accounts set up in a matter of a few minutes. Scans can be scheduled on any number of IP addresses either on demand or at pre-set intervals on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. The unique user interface includes the use of a range of creative graphics to provide an instant "at-a-glance" high level overview of the current threat level together with detailed reports on each vulnerability and professional remediation advice. By drilling further down into the system users can access historic trend analysis information relating to individual IP addresses and network groupings.
Jason Firth, InTechnology's Professional Services Director commented "Our customers cannot afford to take risks when it comes to their corporate security and also cannot assume that because they have installed the latest firewall or IDS technology that they are fully protected. To meet the stringent standards laid down by the regulators, such as PCI, companies must now be able to prove that their networks are not vulnerable to any of the latest exploits. This can only be realistically achieved through a systematic and proactive approach to security management, which is where the new service comes into its own."
ENDS.
